Since I first arrived a deacde ago, my commitment to Davis has grown exponentially. More now than ever before, I want to raise my family in a clean, safe community that respects all its citizens. My name is Lamar Heystek. I'm a candidate for Davis City Council. I’m running because I see the real need to change the balance of the Davis City Council — only when it includes an array of community perspectives will the Council become a truly representative body. I bring a résumé of community service to City Hall. Having served on three city commissions, I've worked with neighbors to protect recreational amenities, voted to preserve key agricultural lands, and tackled our city's budget by crafting solutions that reflect our shared values.
